This Telkomsel IoT Solution Makes the Quality of the COVID-19 Vaccine Maintained

Telkomsel continues to strengthen its role as a leading digital telco company in presenting comprehensive and applicable digital solutions in various sectors. This is now realized through collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Health (KEMENKES).

Yes! In this collaboration, Telkomsel, UNDP and KEMENKES presented the Electronic Logistics Immunization Monitoring System (SMILE) application. By using an integrated IoT solution, this collaboration will provide a smart solution that makes it easier for the Ministry of Health to maintain the quality of vaccines, including the COVID-19 vaccine.

“The collaboration with UNDP and the Indonesian Ministry of Health is in line with our passion in helping the government protect and end the pandemic through safe and effective storage,” said Alfian Manulang, VP Internet of Things at Telkomsel in a release received by Droidlime.

Alfian added that Telkomsel looks optimistically at this collaborative effort to continue to open more opportunities for the use of the latest technology in various fields, including health. This initiative reinforces Telkomsel’s commitment to continue to develop the company’s contribution to the progress of the nation.

The Asset Performance Management solution from Telkomsel IOT can assist in monitoring the temperature and humidity of the refrigerator where vaccines are stored, including the COVID-19 vaccine, which is located in various health centers throughout Indonesia.

Asset Performance Management is also expected to be able to transform the temperature control method in the refrigerator, some of which are still manually monitored by officers, thereby potentially reducing the quality of the vaccine.

In realizing this transformation, Asset Performance Management works through sensors that are connected to the leading connectivity from Telkomsel. Sensors placed in the asset storage location to be monitored will send information such as temperature and humidity in real-time.

Furthermore, the Puskesmas can access all of the data through an integrated online dashboard. In addition, it can also display information comprehensively and has a reminder feature to notify if an anomaly occurs.

“We hope that the use of IoT technology through Asset Performance Management solutions can help the government and all other stakeholders in carrying out efforts to recover the nation from the impact of COVID-19,” concluded Alfian.

Telkomsel also provides various IoT solutions for the enterprise segment in various business and government sectors, including developing the potential for the application of the latest technologies such as 5G to support the industrial sector.
