Several formations of the band “Unió Musical La Nucia” will perform in the open air next Sunday, May 23 at 7:00 pm in the Plaça dels Músics de La Nucía. This “Spring Concert” will have a very attractive program with great classics, film, jazz or opera music. It will be a free open-air concert with limited capacity to guarantee a “safe cultural space”
This “Spring Concert” has been organized by the La Nucía Musical Union and the Department of Culture of the La Nucía City Council. A free outdoor performance with limited capacity, which will comply with the health prevention protocols for Covid-19, distancing the seats from the spectators who attend.
Various musical formations
The stage of the Plaça dels Músics de La Nucía hosts this free concert by various formations of the Banda Unió Musical La Nucía: Big Band, Banda Jove, the Grup de Metalls, Grup de Fustes and a Quartet of Saxos. The Young Band will be directed by Toni Lloret and the Big Band of Unió Musical La Nucia will be directed by Ramón Lorente, head director of the Band and Choir Unió Musical La Nucia
Varied music
The program of the performance scheduled for this Sunday will take the viewer through a great variety of musical styles, from the initial pasodoble, Mateu by Azael Tormo, with which the concert will start, performed by the “Banda Jove de Unió Musical La Nucia” that he will also play an overture by Robert Smith. In second place the “Quartet de Saxos” will perform, which will perform Seville by Isaac Álbéniz and La Misión by Ennio Morricone, the film’s soundtrack. The “Grup de Fustes” of the Unió Musical La Nucia will perform the works Overture for Woodwins by Philip Sparke and Suite for Winds by Adam Gorb.
In fourth place will perform the “Grup de Metalls” from the Nuciera musical group with the pieces Wetminster Abbey by Purcell, two works by Handel: Music from the Royal Fireworks and Water Music.Air. To end the great moments of the operas Carmen and Aida by Georges Bizet and Giuseppe Verdi, respectively.
This “Spring Concert” will close the “Big Band” of Unió Musical La Nucia with an air of jazz, starting with Caravan by Duke Ellington. Then continue with All things you are by Oscar Hammerstein, Ain’t misbehavin ‘by Fats Fats Waller and Chameleon by Herbie Hancock
