There will be a charge for bicycle spaces in the TER BreizhGo between June 7 and September 30. This decision was taken to regulate the number of cyclists on the trains during the holidays.
For those who will make Brittany by bike, good news and bad news. The good thing is that there will be more space in the TER BreizhGo for bicycles. The bad news is that they will be chargeable from June 7 until September 30.
This service, usually free, will cost 3 euros, but to be certain of having a place, it will be imperative to reserve it, according to West France, which announces this decision. A reservation form was posted on the SNCF website.
“The number of bikes on board TER has practically doubled in just over 10 years. Today, some TER are very busy at rush hour and some traffic are very busy (especially in summer)”, explains BreizhGo on his site.
The organization goes on to say that with the “development of bicycle tourism, many travelers were effectively denied access to the train in the summer for lack of space”.
To accommodate cyclo hikers, SNCF has set up trains on the Rennes-Saint Malo, Rennes-Quimper, Rennes-Brest and Quimper-Nantes lines. On board, cyclists will be looked after by an agent who will tell them where to store their mount and check reservations.
