The Valmiera Summer Theater Festival, which will take place this year from 6 to 8 August, will be dedicated to children and young people, inviting artists and visitors to see the world through each other’s eyes.
With this year’s program, the organizers want to promote social cohesion, empathy and mutual tolerance, which is especially important at a time when various fields of information, social bubbles and force majeure are undermining peaceful coexistence.
The festival will take place in accordance with the conditions and restrictions of the pandemic, which will be in force at that time.
The new generation is brought to the forefront of the festival, not by indulgence, but by trying to understand and feel the vision of children and teenagers to the world. All planned new works are created by listening to and respecting their interests, current topics and involving them in the creative process. Among the creators of the performances are brilliant professionals – Krista Burāne, Paula Pļavniece, Toms Treinis, Māra Uzuliņa, Klāvs Mellis, Liene Grava, Pamela Butāne, Ance Muižniece, Artūrs Dīcis and others.
This will be the sixth year of the Festival. Celebrating five years in August last year, the Festival proved that it is able to adapt quickly and take advantage of new conditions quickly without losing quality. Currently, the Festival is planned to develop the artistic search started last year. Creative work on the preparation of the program takes place taking into account both the situation when gatherings will be allowed and those in which the presence of spectators will be limited or not possible at all.
The festival program and tickets are planned to be announced by the beginning of July. Information will be available on datorerasfestivals.lv and the festival’s social networking channels Facebook and Instagram.
