This Sister in Myanmar Kneels and Begs the Police to Stop Shooting at Demonstrators, but …

MYITKYINA, KOMPAS.TV – Sister Ann Roza Nu Thawng, who previously knelt down to protect demonstrators from the Myanmar authorities, returned to a similar action for the second time.

Previously, the nun caught world attention for pleading in tears that the police and military would not act violently by shooting at protesters.

The incident, which took place on February 28 in the city of Myitkyina, has been dubbed the “Tiananmen Moment in Myanmar”.

Sister Ann Roza Nu Thawng’s kneeling action was repeated on Monday morning (8/3/2021) local time.
