If you search for a word surrounded by “like-this”:: (no, this is not a mistake on our part) you are capable of crashing your phone.
Two quotation marks around a word (or not, for that matter), followed by a colon or two. A search that you are unlikely to do on your search engine voluntarily, but which, if you do it by accident, would crash your iPhone.
If you type these three or four symbols into a search bar on an iPhone, it will cause the Springboard UI to crash. A result that will also be obtained on the iPad. The crash is extremely brief, however, and shortly after, the device returns to its lock screen, as explained TechCrunch.
Nothing extremely serious, therefore, especially since as the brand itself has confirmed, it is not a security bug. But that is also not a reason to have fun doing it!
