This Scientist Suggests Extended Emergency PPKM, Here’s the Explanation

JAKARTA – One of the young Indonesian scientists, Dr. Iqbal Ridzi Fahdri Elyazar, explained his idea not to rush to end the Emergency PPKM. Of course, this is seen from several things that are taken into consideration.

Where he conveyed that the current conditions were not good and the cases of Covid-19 had increased drastically.

According to the Geospatial Epidemiology program manager, Eijikman-Oxford Clinical Research Unit, he gave a number of 4 reasons why Emergency PPKM can be dangerous if rushed to an end:

1. Not everyone is vaccinated (only 7 out of 100 are vaccinated).

2. Not 100% of vaccines work to protect transmission.

3. Contagion will occur again in the community and will get worse.

4. The circulation of dangerous variants will expand.

Therefore, he argues that Emergency PPKM needs more time and is balanced by strict tightening and discipline.
