Tunja, May 28, 2021. (UACP). Following the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, in its purpose of advancing swiftly in immunization against COVID-19, this Saturday, May 29, a National Vaccination Day will be held, without scheduling, for people over 55 years of age .

The Secretary of Health, Jairo Mauricio Santoyo Gutiérrez, reported that Boyacá has 171 vaccination points that are enabled for the application of the vaccine against COVID-19, and this Saturday, May 29, the National Day will be held of Vaccination for all people over 55 years of age, who must attend the nearest vaccination point and verify that there is vaccine availability to receive this first dose, taking into account that many municipalities timely applied it to 100%.

He added that today 41,120 doses of vaccines were distributed for the entire Boyacá territory, of which 15,682 are destined for second doses of the population that had already received the first vaccination scheme; and 25,438 doses that were destined to start the vaccination scheme for teachers, military forces, police and people over 55 years of age

“It is necessary to be clear that teachers and personnel of the military and Police forces must attend prior scheduling with their EPS or IPS vaccinators, all health centers in Boyacá will have vaccines against COVID-19, to carry out the process of vaccination ”, said the Secretary of Health.

Santoyo indicated that Boyacá, despite the difficulties, is progressing very well with the National Vaccination Plan, however, it is important to understand that protection against COVID-19 is only achieved with the effective application of the two doses of the vaccine. and complying with biosafety measures.

“I call on the people of Boyacá to cut off the virus by following self-care protocols, adopting measures of social distancing, use of masks and hand washing, not attending meetings or crowds, with this we protect all beings what else do we want ”, concluded Jairo Santoyo.
