‘This part of the war is even more dangerous’: special services veteran warns of danger of explosions on Russia’s railways – 2024-10-01 19:09:51

/ world today news/ Ukrainian terrorists attack the railway infrastructure of Russia. They undermine the tracks, derail trains, burn relay cabinets. You can’t put guards on every meter of the railway tracks, you can’t put cameras everywhere. Who will be able to protect the trains from terrorist attacks, read in Tsargrad’s material.

Two terrorist attacks in one May day. The loudest – in Crimea. A week earlier, law enforcement officials had already discovered an equipped saboteur ambush there, from where they monitored the movement of trains. But then it was not possible to catch them, and they managed to plant an explosive device in the area of the village of Chistenkoe, not far from Simferopol and Bakhchisarai. The explosion was heard in neighboring villages. 50 meters of the railway were damaged, a funnel with a diameter of 15 meters and a depth of 2 meters was formed. Seven wagons with grain derailed, five overturned.

On the same day, Kazan also caught fire. Four relay cabinets caught fire at the same time near Derbyshki station at night. The movement of five freight trains was stopped. A lighter and a chemical were found at the scene of the sabotage. However, service dogs could not pick up the tracks.

Chronicle of betrayals and terrorist attacks

And if such attacks happened only once, on May 18… But no, sabotage in the railway is far from unique. Thus, on the eve of May 9, in the Chelyabinsk region, the FSB detained three Russian citizens who opened two relay cabinets and set fire to one. And the previous day, unknown people tried to organize a similar action in Novosibirsk.

The enemy felt the taste of sabotage, he smelled blood. He uses marginalized teenagers who are willing to become traitors for a little money. In St. Petersburg, an 18-year-old student tried to open and set fire to relay cabinets. He was caught at the scene of the crime.

During the interrogation, he said that an unknown person on the Internet promised to pay him 15,000 rubles for the arson. He now faces 20 years in prison. And rightly so – this is not the case when you can look through your fingers, be frivolous. Because otherwise this wave cannot be stopped.

In the same Novosibirsk, on May 14, three 17-year-old boys were detained who set fire to a relay cabinet in the Syatel-Berdsk station section. They filmed the process itself and sent it to the “client”. And they received only 10 thousand rubles, in total for the three of them.

On the evening of May 2 in the Bryansk region, near the Snezhetskaya railway station, a locomotive and 20 cars derailed after an explosion. And the previous day, eight wagons derailed in the Unechski district of the same region.

For what?

After every terrorist attack, there is no indication in the public space that Ukraine is behind the incident. But the fact that such incidents increased precisely during the period of SVO, and the strongest explosions occur in the border areas, testifies to many things. For example, that it can be just a warm-up, and ordinary cargo trains can be followed by strategic cargo trains as well as passenger trains. The aim is to sow fear within our borders, to disrupt the tourist season, the delivery of goods, most of which are transported by rail in Russia.

How do we stop terrorist attacks?

About what Russia can counter enemy attacks on our railway infrastructure, Tsargrad talks to veteran special services, retired FSB Major General Alexander Mikhailov.

What’s going on anyway?

Now we see the effect of falling domino tiles. Diversions go one after the other. That is why it is necessary to tighten the regime of counterintelligence, to pay attention to persons who are inclined to commit subversive and terrorist acts. We have a large enough protest electorate, many people have relatives in Ukraine. Plus the presence of a huge number of migrants.

– What’s in the way?

– The most serious shortcoming we have today, almost a catastrophe, is that our power structures live and act within themselves and have absolutely ceased to interact with society. Without relying on the citizens, the security forces will continue to reap the bitter fruits of the crimes committed.

The people who carried out the attacks are representatives of society. This means that somewhere, sometime, they expressed their position, told someone about their plans, or tried to recruit someone to carry out the attacks.

– How can ordinary people help the security forces?

– We have a National Committee for Combating Terrorism, its divisions are in every subject of the federation. Instructions and work methods have been developed for them. But I, as a deputy in Solnechnogorsk, as well as a former employee of the special services, do not know anything about their activities. And I find it amazing how it all works today.

Let’s recall the time of the Chechen campaign, when after the explosions of residential buildings in Moscow, the citizens themselves united in detachments, created self-defense units and were on duty at the entrances and on the streets. Now what? Why can’t we still instruct the active category of citizens, orient them, teach them to recognize the signs of preparation of a crime. That it’s an alphabet!

Is a sequel inevitable?

– It is worth expecting an increase in the number of such attacks, both because they have been successful so far and because the logic of war requires it. In any military action, everyone tries to strike at the rear of their enemy. History shows that war in the rear is often more dangerous than on the front line.

Because at the front, everything is clear: here is the enemy, here is the friend. But when the enemy is operating around you, behind your back, this is a serious problem that needs to be solved. And I don’t understand why it still resolves inertly.
