This new French watch is unlike any other and it costs only 3,300 euros

It is rare to come across a French watch that exudes adventure as much as the Newport Carbon Titanium Squelette from Herbelin. Inspired by Aurélien Ducroz, double freeride ski world champion and seasoned navigator, this piece not only accompanies adventurers, it embodies them. Produced in a limited series of 500 pieces, it combines state-of-the-art construction and a bold design, while highlighting French watchmaking know-how. With a price tag of 3,300 euros, it is as much a performance accessory as it is a style statement.

The marriage of carbon and titanium: lightness and robustness

At first glance, the 43 mm case of the Newport Carbon Titanium Skeleton strikes with its robust appearance, without being massive. Built in forged carbon and titanium, it is directly inspired by Aurélien Ducroz’s Class 40 sailboat. These two materials, more commonly used in aeronautics, guarantee a watch that is both incredibly resistant to shocks and temperature variations, while remaining disconcertingly light.

Titanium, known for its corrosion resistance, is combined with a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) treatment which increases the durability of the watch, while offering an elegant black finish. It is no coincidence that this watch has a water resistance of 200 meters: it has been designed to withstand the most demanding environments, whether at sea or in the mountains.

An identity design inspired by the sea

Faithful to the Newport collection, the Carbon Titanium Skeleton incorporates the emblematic codes of the range. The porthole-style bezel, the central strap attachments, and the crown engraved with a marine wheel subtly recall the nautical world. This nod to the marine world extends down to the details, such as the visible screws on the bezel, evoking the winches of a sailboat. And to top it all off, it’s waterproof up to 200 meters. No question of keeping it dry.
