NKRIKU, Jakarta – An astronomical phenomenon in the form of the conjunction of the planets Saturn and Mars accompanying the meal at dawn on Tuesday morning, April 5, 2022. The sighting of the two planets ‘making out’ because they are seen close to each other occurs from 03.00 local time until 25 minutes before sunrise.
According to information shared by the Center for Space Research, the Aeronautics and Space Research Organization – formerly the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space – through their accounts on social media, the angle of separation between Mars and Saturn varies from 19 to 20 arc minutes. That means it is slightly larger than half the diameter of the Moon.
The Saturn-Mars conjunction has happened before on April 3, 2018 and April 1, 2020. “The phenomenon will occur again on April 11, 2024 and April 20, 2026,” reads the statement @LAPAN_RI.
For the whole of April this year, the Saturn-Mars conjunction was the first of four conjunction astronomical phenomena. On April 25 there will be a conjunction of the Moon-Saturn, then on April 26 the conjunction of the Moon with Mars. Another conjunction phenomenon will occur with the three Moons, Venus and Jupiter on April 27.
