Javier González Mocken, secretary of Education and Sports in Chihuahua, reported that a cross-border vaccination could be carried out.
For days, parents have been consulted to find out if they are willing to vaccinate their children. For this, through the teachers of each school, parents were asked to sign the authorization or denial for the vaccine.
During this weekend this information will be uploaded to the platform of the Educational Information System (SIE) so that on Monday the universe of possible beneficiaries will be available.
The head of education explained that these data were requested by the Ministry of Health in order to determine the demand, since there are many requests through amparos to vaccinate children from 5 to 11 years old, which is the only part of the unvaccinated student population.
Fortunately, so far there have been no contagion situations that could put the school and health system on alert, so coverage is sought.
Next Monday the report would be delivered to the Ministry of Health in order to define the strategy for cross-border vaccination.
He commented that first the vaccine must be obtained in the United States and then define the transfer to take them to vaccinate.
He stressed that there is an offer of support from the United States, however the universe must be known.
He affirmed that all minors between 5 and 11 years of age, whose parents authorize the application, will be vaccinated, in the US all that population is vaccinated and the idea is that Chihuahua also has that coverage.
