Luciano Peres rented apartment in Las Vegas, USA at a fairly cheap price. Little did he know, the apartment kept a scary secret.
Through the internet, Luciano looked for apartments that fit into his budget. Until then, he found a 3-bedroom apartment with a fairly cheap rental price, around US $ 1,600 (approximately Rp. 23 million) per month.
Together with his two friends, Luciano decided to rent the apartment. As of June 1st, they also occupy the building apartment between the Torrey Pines area and the Smoke Ranch Road.
At first glance there is nothing strange about apartment that Luciano had hired. But it turns out that the apartment that Luciano rented holds a secret that they don’t know. Some neighbors were surprised when Luciano moved there.
“When I came in, you know, getting stuff out of the truck, some of the neighbors stopped me, ‘Oh, do you know what’s going on there? You want to move there?’ Luciano’s story, as quoted from CNNTuesday (21/6/2022).
After you have finished putting all the items in the apartmentOnly then did Luciano find out that the apartment he was renting was the former crime scene of the murder of a young woman.
“I feel very, very frustrated. I never expected it because I was just starting a new life in a new place to live,” he said.
When confirmed to the management, apparently they are not obliged to tell the information to the tenants if they do not ask.
The law in Las Vegas itself states the owner apartment is not required to include information if there has been a murder or suicide case in the property to prospective tenants or buyers.
Elisabeth Ashley, a real estate attorney in Las Vegas, says it’s the job of prospective landlords or apartment to find as much detailed information as possible regarding the property to be rented or purchased.
