Who is leaving the series “The Rookie” before season 7?
How TVLine reports that Tru Valentino, who joined the series as a recurring guest actor in the fourth season and was promoted to the main cast in season five, will be leaving the series. This means that he will no longer play a leading role in the upcoming seventh season.
Valentino played the character Aaron Thorsen, who TikTok had already achieved some notoriety and had been acquitted of a murder charge that made headlines. He tries his hand as a rookie cop in the Mid-Wilshire Division. He was under the care of instructor Detective Nyla Harper (Mekia Cox), with John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) keeping an eye on him during her maternity leave.
This change was already hinted at by his absence at the San Diego Comic-Con. There are also two new recurring guest actors for season seven.

Why is the series not coming back until 2025?
Although it is already certain that the wait for “The Rookie” will be longer this time, this has an advantage for viewers, as 18 episodes can be broadcast without any major breaks. You can watch a what’s happened so far video for “The Rookie” here.
