Garko and Del Vesco – GF Vip (US EndemolShine)
–
For once, the Big Brother he could count on interesting internal dynamics without resorting to those pathetic external paths to which he has accustomed us for some years, which transformed ‘reality’ into the most ‘scripted’ of formats, without incurring any kind of success among other things. A sign that, in programs like the one we write about, the cast is everything. And the fifth edition of GF Vip has a very strong group of competitors, ready to give new life to a now moribund program.
The nocturnal confessions between Adua Del Vesco and Massimiliano Morra they blew up what could have been a media case of great interest. A case that could have fueled a large part of the network’s schedule, undoubtedly worthy of being investigated. The imperfect and the conditional are a must, as the case was deflated in the bud, thanks – according to Dagospia – to a warning of the main accused who would have ordered the stop to the Cologno Monzese company.
I have serious doubts about the fact that a warning could determine in a giant like Mediaset the desire to bury something that could have had a certain economic advantage for the company. It is no mystery, in fact, that the interest of the public is translated into ratings and each share point has a value of several million euros. A warning, at the end of the fair, is nothing more than, to use words understandable to all, a notice with which you are told “be careful, because if you continue to do or say what you are doing or saying, we will take you to court “. In essence, it is a prodromal act of a lawsuit that is absolutely not necessarily involved. And assuming he steps in and a judge takes the case to court, you know how many there are convictions for aggravated libel in the press? Very few. And do you know what the highest sentence has been in recent years? About 30 thousand euros. Peanuts if compared to the value of each additional share point that the program could have won (a share point has an estimated value during the year between 10 and 15 million euros).
The reasons, therefore, in the opinion of the writer are to be found elsewhere. There were basically three possible roads: the first is in the recognition ofgroundlessness of the matter and, in this case, it is assumed that the conductor (or whoever for him) could have easily informed the public, putting an end to any chatter, because that would have been the case. The second and third go hand in hand: either it was aware of the matter or it was completely ignored. In both cases it would have been opportune (and should) to deepen: in the first to report, in the second to investigate and bring to light a situation which, according to what the protagonists have told, would have worrying and disconcerting outlines, with also criminal implications. Among other things, it should have been the company’s main interest given that the production company in question was owned by Mediaset itself. But anyhow, it was decided not to address the issue right where the case broke out. Definitely for reasons of expediency, because I absolutely do not want to believe, as in fact I do not believe, that it was decided to remain silent to endorse a status quo like the one described by the two competitors.
A legitimate choice, for heaven’s sake, but certainly questionable because, by doing so, the public is betrayed: if you decide to broadcast a reality show but you kill it – albeit for reasons of opportunity – just when it manages to give, as it hardly did, the best proof of self, it means that that program has no more reason to exist and be there in your schedule. And if you spark the interest of the viewer, hosting one of the main protagonists of the story in the episode, but you make him mention the matter in a completely bland way and shift the interest to a puffin secret like the coming out dell’ospite… then you no longer betray the public, but you are take the piss.
And that is why the program should be closed. Definitely.
