Under the title “Greece is the second most preferred country for Bulgarian tourists” today the media published data from a study by the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute. After Turkey, Bulgarians prefer to travel to Greece, Greek media reports.
Regarding the return movement of Greeks to Bulgaria, Greece ranks third after tourists from Turkey and Romania. Almost 50% of the foreigners who visited Bulgaria are citizens of European countries.
With regard to Bulgarian tourists, Greek tour operators report a strong interest for Easter, and above all in Northern Greece, with Halkidiki remaining the first place in terms of reservations. There are entire hotels occupied by Bulgarian tourists for the holidays, hoteliers said.
Greeks do not limit themselves only to buying cheap Bulgarian goods for the holidays, but also stay on vacation for a few days in “Christian Bulgaria with extremely valuable and interesting churches and monasteries”, Greek websites point out in comments about Greek travel attitudes.
