With the end of the autumn holidays, the airport in the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia is also switching to the winter flight schedule. Travelers can choose from over 120 destinations in 49 countries, including cities in Northern Europe and sunny destinations in the South. A total of around 50 airlines fly from Düsseldorf. The highlights: Etihad Airways returns and flies to Abu Dhabi three times a week from October 31st, with a planned increase to daily connections from October 2025. Emirates and Qatar Airways also continue to serve Düsseldorf with numerous flights and offer connecting destinations such as Bangkok, Singapore and Melbourne.Air Baltic is adding Vilnius to its program and flying to Riga five times a week. Eurowings is expanding its offering to include a connection to Cairo and increasing frequencies to popular holiday destinations such as Lanzarote, Rovaniemi, Ivalo and Tromsö.

Northern European destinations are in high demand in winter. Eurowings flies daily from Düsseldorf to Copenhagen, Stockholm and Gothenburg, while Oslo is served daily by Norwegian and SAS. Other top destinations for winter travel are the Canary Islands, Mallorca and Antalya. The Canary Islands are served up to 60 times a week, Mallorca 24 times a week and Antalya over 20 times a week. Sun destinations such as Madeira, Lanzarote and Hurghada also remain popular: Condor and Eurowings are increasing their frequencies to meet demand.
