“The Blue Lagoon” from 1980 is still a popular film today, which is about the cousins ”Emmeline” and “Richard” who are stranded on a desert island. There they grow up, create their home in nature and discover their sexuality. The two were played by Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins. What became of the two actors?
“The Blue Lagoon” caused a lot of discussion in 1980, because not only the story of the film was extremely different from everything that had been there before, but also the way the film was made. With the exception of a few scenes, the entire strip was filmed in the open air on an island and not in the studio at the time.

Nevertheless, the drama became a big class hit: in the USA alone, the film grossed around 58.85 million US dollars. Originally, the makers of “The Blue Lagoon” wanted Matt Dillon and Helen Hunt in the lead roles, but both turned down the roles because of some revealing scenes.
