The warning about the arrival of this natural phenomenon was issued yesterday afternoon, Thursday, when the authorities warned of a dust front moving west, particularly towards the desert communities of San Diego County.
This notice remained in effect until 5:45 pm for communities along Interstate 8 near Boulevard, Jacumba, and Live Oak Springs, advising residents to stay indoors and avoid going outside as much as possible, as they reported “visibility. almost zero in the dust storm “,
Affected locations also included El Centro, Calexico, Brawley, Imperial, Plaster City, Salton City, Ocotillo, Holtville, Westmorland, Salton Sea Beach, Desert Shores, Bombay Beach, Mt. Signal, El Centro Naval Airfield, and Ocotillo Wells.
For its part, in Riverside County, the dust warning remained in effect until 6:30 pm. Locations affected included the Desert Center, Chiriaco Summit, Eagle Mtn, and Cottonwood Vis.
