The last FUT event before Christmas is on FIFA 22 and by now we also know what’s coming: Winter Wildcard was released on December 17th. We’ll show you who made it into the first team.
In the past few years it was FUT promos like “Freeze” and “Futmas” that shaped December. With FIFA 22 things are different – one week after the start of “Versus”, “Winter Wildcard” comes into play as a new event. There is no special concept, but there are new special cards with upgrades.

Winter Wildcards in FIFA 22: This is what Team 1 looks like
A star in Team 1 is Neymar, who, together with Paul Pogba and Kingsley Coman, forms the blocking point of the FUT event. Neymar will not only receive an upgrade, but also a new position. He’s coming through the middle now, as is the case with Kingsley Coman. Coman is one of three Bundesliga players in Team 1 – plus Moussa Niakhaté and Breel Embolo. On Saturday a mega card from Djibril Sow should come as SBC. We went into this in detail below in the text.

- ST: Kingsley Coman, 89, FC Bayern Munich

Winter Wildcard: When did the FUT event start?
Once again, the FUT loading screen revealed the start of a new Ultimate Team event. It starts on Friday (December 17th) at 7 p.m. Then the new special cards will appear on the occasion of the “Winter Wildcard”. Apparently there will be some Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) in the next few days, so things should continue to happen in quick succession.

Preview: What can we expect from the Winter Wildcard?
While the new “Versus” event was primarily about EA Sports giving FUT gamers the opportunity to choose between two versions of a special player card, there will probably not be anything special with “Winter Wildcard”. The promo will apparently belong to those in which new special cards with upgrades will simply appear on the market without a special concept.

Winter Wildcard: Which cards will be given at the FUT event?
We are of course still in the speculative area as long as there is not the official release on Friday evening. Still, many FUT accounts are pretty much in agreement on some cards on social media. So from experience there can be something to it and it’s not just a shot in the dark. One card that gets a lot of attention is the special card from Djibril Sow from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Several sources say that there will apparently be a new special Sow card – apparently as part of an SBC on Saturday. And the values that these cards should have are tough! Of the six values that can be seen on the card, five have 85 or better. We are already very strong in the area of the “Gullit Gang”.
Djibril Sow: is he bringing a mega card to Winter Wildcard SBC?
So it could well keep up with one of the most popular FUT cards for years, the Icon by Ruud Gullit. The term “Gullit Gang” has been around for several years – part of the “Gullit Gang” are players whose scores are 80 or better. At FIFA 22, for example, Leon Goretzka and Marcos Llorente are part of the “Gullit gang”.

The fact that the card was circulating on social media before Friday even had an impact on the FUT market. The card from Wolfsburg’s Kevin Mbabu, who as a Swiss compatriot has a green link with Sow, got expensive. Other Bundesliga stars are also more popular in the market.

Other players who could look forward to new special cards as part of the “Winter Wildcard” are Neymar and Paul Pogba. The duo also appears in numerous predictions. PSG star Neymar’s card in particular could be interesting if the position changes from the left wing to the center – then it should be an attractive, but rather expensive, FUT card from the Brazilian.
