This is what is on offer in the Regensburg district this weekend

There are a lot of exciting events on offer again this weekend. These are our tips for the Regensburg district from August 2nd to 4th.

Metal festival, open-air cinema and equestrian sports:

Obertraubling: From regional underground to internationally known musicians – a whole range of artists will be performing at the Metal United Festival this weekend. Many different genres will be presented here, inviting everyone to rock out together and making every metal fan’s heart beat faster. For the full festival experience, all guests have the option of staying overnight at the adjacent campsite. The event will take place from August 1st to 3rd in the Eventhalle Airport Obertraubling and promises a family atmosphere without mud, with short distances and a low price. Tickets are still available at eventim.de.

Alteglofsheim: Watching films together in the open air. On Saturday, August 3rd, there will be another film night in the Kulturscheune Homeier. It starts with the children’s cinema at 5 p.m., where the little guests choose the film that will be shown from five titles. This is followed by the evening event for adults, which is characterized by a summery atmosphere, a wide range of food and drinks, and cozy live music. The evening is rounded off with a cinema screening at 9 p.m. A French surprise comedy will be shown. The number of spectators is limited to 200 people each time. Entry is free.

Duggendorf: Equestrian sport with many facets. This Saturday and Sunday the ninth district championship in eventing will take place in Duggendorf. Participants will compete against each other in a multi-event competition consisting of three sub-tests: dressage, cross-country riding and show jumping. In addition, the youth district championship will be held in the same discipline for the first time this year. The meeting point is at the Schwarzhöfe riding stables near Wolfsegg.

From the cultural calendar for the district:

Friday, August 2

Eichhofen: 14 bands and two DJs will give the brewery courtyard a unique festival atmosphere for three days. Insider tip is on Friday at 8 p.m.: Ça Bouge Swing in the inn – light-footed, energetic and influenced by the style of the great Django Reinhardt. At 7 p.m. the Undorf music club will play on the main stage, Rock’n’Rodeo will take over from 8 p.m., Garden Street Mucke will play in the ice cellar and later DJ Stink. The program is available at www.eichhofener.de.

7 p.m., Schlossbrauerei Eichhofen, admission free

Adlersberg: The Singer Pur Days are taking place in the former Adlersberg monastery church for the 6th time. For the first time, the festival is not focusing on music from the Middle Ages or the Renaissance, but on vocal music from the 19th century. The title “Open up” means, on the one hand, that the festival is opening up in musical and thematic terms, and, on the other hand, it addresses the intellectual and emotional readiness of the musicians and the audience to engage with new sounds and ideas.

8 p.m., on Saturday at 9 p.m. and on Sunday at 5 p.m., Adlersberg Monastery Church, admission is free.

Saturday, August 3

Regenstauf: When they sing about everyday life in multiple voices and accompanied by light, fluffy major chords on guitar and ukulele, Susi Raith & the Spießern sound as light, cheerful and full of joy in playing as life can perhaps be.

8 p.m., Gasthaus am See Weihern, admission free, reservations at (0 94 82) 10 43

Sünching: The beautiful things in life are often only seen when you take a detour, a detour. The five exceptional Bavarian wind players Fritz Winter, Jürgen Malterer, Christian Höcherl, Dominik Glöbl and Frank Feulner found each other on such a detour. In ensembles such as German Brass, the Josef Menzl band, the Straubinger Volksfestmusikanten and Dreiviertelblut, they tour the stages of Europe and are now returning together to where it all began for them – the pub.

7.30 p.m., Schlosshof Sünching, admission: 15 euros (pre-sale)/13 euros (reduced)/17 euros (on-site), tickets in the VG Sünching (0 94 80) 93 80 15)

Bach: “Mit mim Sach auf Bach”: Wolfgang “Wuffi” Kamm has songs and stories in his luggage, which, as always, are presented to the audience in the usual relaxed, cheerful manner in dialect with lots of music and humor. The audience can expect a multifaceted program with amusing new music, sketches and cabaret. A wide range is presented, from sausage sandwich rock’n’roll to grotesque short stories to amusing song-making in the Upper Palatinate dialect.

7 p.m., Baierweinmuseum Bach, admission: 12 euros, registration required with Gerti Rissmann (09482 3554 or [email protected])

Sunday, August 4

Alteglofsheim: The Brass Band Association Regensburg invites you to an inspiring morning full of rousing sounds and impressive performances, which also marks the conclusion of the association’s third Brass Band Camp. Wiesent: Up to 30 musicians play in the samba percussion group Sarará from Regensburg. Visitors can expect groovy arrangements, clever choreography and, every now and then, 30 powerful voices. Their performances are fun, groovy, funky, loud and colorful. The leader of the rhythm group is Reinhold Bauer, a well-known percussionist who has been active for many years. His invitation: “Let yourself be infected by the music, the enthusiasm and joy that has gripped us and with which we want to entertain you!” Visitors should bring their own blanket or chair.
