The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has opened his voice regarding the continuation of the New Grass Refinery (NGRR) or Tube Refinery project. This project involves Pertamina collaborating with Rosneft from Russia.

Bahlil explained that he took part in handling this project when he was Minister of Investment. He said that his party even participated in solving the land issue.

“That is Rosneft, Rosneft with Pertamina, when I was at the Ministry of Investment, one of those who handled the project, I was involved in its completion, we even got the land,” explained Bahlil at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta, Friday (18/10/2024).

“But until now there are still a number of obstacles, precisely at that time because I at the Ministry of Investment could only finalize land​​​​​​​​and incentives and permits,” he continued.

Regarding technical issues, he admitted that he had not done any deep research. He said he would investigate further if given another mandate.

“Well, technically what the problem is, I haven’t researched it yet, but if we say that we are still given a trust and a mandate to carry it out, we will definitely explain what the problem is because we have to. you have a heart to develop this country,” explained the former Minister of Investment / CEO of BKPM.

At the same time, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana said that the final investment decision (FID) aims to be completed in November 2024.

“This is based on a report from Pertamina 2 days ago,” he said.

For your information, apart from the construction issue, the Tugan refinery project also caused movement. The reason is that residents living at the construction site of the refinery, namely Sumurgeneng Village, Jenu District, Tuban, East Java, have suddenly become rich in early 2021.

They even bought luxury cars. The action of the residents was because they received ‘profit’ from acquiring land for the mega project.
