Two and a half weeks of the Olympic Games in Paris are over – now everyday football life begins!
The first round of the DFB Cup is scheduled for this weekend. But not for Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart, who will play for the DFL Supercup on Saturday evening (8.30 p.m.). One week later, the Bundesliga will start its 62nd edition.

Olmo goes to Barça
RB Leipzig has received the highest transfer fee to date for European Championship hero Dani Olmo (26). The Spaniard is moving to his youth club FC Barcelona for 55 million euros, where Olmo played for seven years. The transfer was officially announced when Yemisi Ogunleye sensationally won GOLD in the shot put. Four days earlier (when Germany won GOLD in 3×3 basketball), Leipzig extended the loan of PSG super talent Xavi Simons for another year.
Two transfer rejections for Bayern
FC Bayern is not the only one who has come away empty-handed when it comes to their dream player Simons. The Munich team was keen to sign offensive jewel Désiré Doué (19) from Stade Rennes and offered more than 50 million euros. Doué will not be moving to the record champions, however, and has apparently decided to move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Füllkrug to West Ham – BVB brings in two new players

BVB invested the transfer proceeds in new players: European Championship participant Pascal Groß (33) is coming from the English club Brighton for seven million euros, right-back Yan Couto (22) is initially on loan (fee four million euros, subsequent purchase option of 25 million euros) from Manchester City. The deal with national striker Maxi Beier, as Füllkrug’s replacement, was made official on Monday evening. He was already in Dortmund on Sunday, during the Olympic closing ceremony.
Undav stays in Stuttgart
VfB Stuttgart wins the months-long battle for 18-goal striker Deniz Undav (28), finally transferring almost 27 million euros to Brighton. Never before have Stuttgart spent more money on a new signing.

PSG buys Eintracht star

Werder banishes Keita
On the day that Malaika Mihambo won silver in the long jump, Werder Bremen finally dropped Naby Keita (29) from the professional squad. The Guinean was suspended last season after a strike, and there is no new beginning in Bremen. Instead, there is a clearly stated goal of leaving Werder as soon as possible.
Bosse earthquake in Hoffenheim
Three managing directors have to leave Hoffenheim – first and foremost sporting director Alexander Rosen (45). The accusation is that Hoffenheim has not made any significant progress in sporting terms over the past two years.

On October 30, the time of Marketing Director Denni Strich (57) will also end. Former sports psychologist Jan Mayer (51) is also leaving the management. A little later, Pirmin Schwegler (37) resigned from his position as Head of Professional Football at TSG.
Consultant dispute at Moukoko
Explosive statements by Patrick Williams, advisor to Youssoufa Moukoko (19/contract until 2026): “Youssoufa was promised a lot before he signed, but that was not kept.”
Williams continues: “I think BVB will make a mistake if they sell Youssoufa.” BILD knows that there is not that much interest in Moukoko. If no club comes forward with a reasonable offer, he could end up staying at BVB – probably on the bench.
Mainz man released from custody
After 16 days in custody, Mainz newcomer Kaishu Sano (23) was released from the Honfuji Police Station in Tokyo. He is alleged to have been involved in a sexual assault on a 30-year-old woman. The charges were dropped. The Japanese has been training with the Zero Five team since the beginning of August and was most recently in the starting eleven in the friendly match against Montpellier (3:1).
