Former Japanese princess Mako has found a new job in New York. She will work as a curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, also known as ‘The Met’.
According to the Japan Times, the eldest daughter of Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko is not going to take up permanent employment. Most likely it will be a volunteer job.
The job fits Mako’s interests and education. She studied art history in Edinburgh and obtained her master’s degree in museology in Leicester.
Mako, 30, left for America last fall after marrying Kei Komuro, who works for a law firm in New York. In Japan, a princess who marries automatically loses her title, position and membership in the Imperial House.
