“States must invest in digital tools, in the modernization of the teaching process and in the training of teachers themselves. Because the time has passed when, once you graduate or defend a specialty, the training ends,” said resigned Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. who participates online in the EU Social Summit in Porto.
Borissov pointed out that Bulgaria supports the goal set in the Action Plan for the European Pillar of Social Rights, according to which by 2030 at least 60 percent of all adults should participate in training every year.

Before the participants in the forum, Prime Minister Borissov emphasized the need to reach a high level of digitalization in the coming years, which can be achieved by setting this important priority in the program of the governments of the member states.
Borissov pointed out the extremely important role of information technology in modern life and added that one of Europe’s supercomputers is located in Bulgaria, built and ready for operation.

In his speech, he noted that the Bulgarian government in recent years has invested heavily in the education system and infrastructure, achieved a double increase in teachers’ salaries and laid the foundation for successful online learning in all classes.
“So I am optimistic, because people quickly realized that they have to train all their lives to be competitive in the labor market,” added Boyko Borissov.
