The votes have been counted and the trophy is ready: Phil Bee (62) from the team of Frans is the winner of the fourth season of The Voice Senior and succeeds the previous winner Henny Thijssen. It goes without saying that the release is great when Lieke mentions Phil as the winner of the singing competition. “Ooooh!” he shouts out. “I’m so happy. Thank you. Dear, dear, Frans. Thank you fans who voted for me. And the crew, I had such a fantastic time here and in my wildest dreams… I can’t believe it , guys.”

But it doesn’t stop there. “I have one more thing,” announces the brand new winner. To top it all off, he has a big surprise in store for his girlfriend. “The one I want to thank the most is my family sitting there and my friend Jacqueline. Actually, I want to ask you if you’d like to come this way.”
As she walks to the stage, Phil explains that he has known his girlfriend for several years and that she is the sweetest woman in the world. That’s when everyone in the studio feels it coming. “I want to ask you to marry me,” Phil says. When asked in such a way in front of an audience of millions, there is only one answer: the proud Jacqueline says a resounding ‘yes’ to her winner.

Not only has there never been a winner on the podium on one knee, but a season of The Voice Senior not so long before. With seven episodes, the fourth season is the longest edition so far made in the Netherlands. Due to the strong performances and the special stories of the candidates, more airtime was needed.
