With an Argentine farm as a background, the finalists are given two assignments. First of all, there is a fashion shoot on the program. It’s up to the finalists to show their best side and put into practice what they’ve learned. But the final is not over with just taking photos: jury members William Rutten and Gaby Herbstein have the hard task of examining the photos and judging the works.
The quality is high as always, but only two finalists can get through. The jury comes to the conclusion that Thomas has performed the least during the fashion shoot and must immediately leave the program. “If we list all the quality standards for a good fashion photo, however, there is one photo that lags behind the rest”, the jury commented. “The photographer was given a beautiful model with a beautiful outfit, but did not manage to make the picture.”
Thomas only gets a six for his photo. “I’m very disappointed. I think it’s a shame. Very unfortunate.”

Thomas has to leave the competition, but the battle is not over yet. In the second part of the final, Jochem and Maurice are given the honor of portraying the culture of South American livestock farmers, so-called gauchos. With one less competitor in the game, the knives are sharpened and the men do everything they can to shoot the best record for their triptych.
After that, it’s a good thing that the program is almost over. Maurice and Jochem are really looking forward to going home again. However, they are still kept in suspense for a while. Not in Argentina but in a studio in the Netherlands, in the presence of the dropped candidates, they hear who has scored the highest marks during the final. With an average final grade of 8.5, Maurice is named the best photographer of this season. And not only that, because by winning the prize, he also gets his own exhibition in Museum Hilversum.
“This photographer has understood the assignment very well. The storytelling is great. The triptych has a head and a tail and you can still fill in the story yourself”, the jury commented. Maurice can’t believe his luck with this beautiful victory. “I’m so grateful.”
