The bid for this 1959 ‘Martin D-18E’ guitar model, which Kurt Cobain played in 1994, started at $ 250,000 and went beyond that amount to reach $ 6 million. With that, It became the most expensive guitar on the planet, topping $ 4 million in 2019 at the auction for David Gilmour’s guitar from PINKFLOYD.
Kurt Cobain’s guitar came bundled with the original case the artist used. It was acquired by the businessman and founder of the ‘RODE’ microphone company, Peter Freedman. Without a doubt, a historical jewel within the reach of very few pockets.
The Australian businessman plans to go on tour with this valuable object to raise funds to support artists around the planet.
