Frankfurt – This weekend, August 23 to 25, 2024, the Museumsuferfest will take place in Frankfurt. Millions of people are expected to attend the numerous event locations near the banks of the Main. Celebrations will take place on stages, stalls and stands on both sides of the Main. Dragon boat races and the final fireworks display are popular highlights of the weekend.

But where so many people meet, there are also conflicts. When asked on Saturday afternoon, a spokesperson for the Frankfurt police said that everything at this year’s Museumsuferfest has been peaceful so far. There were no special incidents to report.

The spokesman also explained that there are no links between the crime in Solingen and Hesse. The developments in the North Rhine-Westphalian city are being observed and taken into account. However, there is “no increase in the abstract risk situation in Hesse,” said the spokesman.

The spokesman said it was normal for heavily armed officers to be on site. At critical points, colleagues with more special equipment could be seen. It remains to be hoped that the big cultural party in Frankfurt will end peacefully on Sunday evening.
