This is the SEP 2020-2021 school calendar; there will be vacations

This afternoon the Secretary of Public Education unveiled the official school calendar for the 2020-2021 school year, which will be carried out remotely until the epidemiological traffic light turns green and consists of 190 effective days of study.

During the press conference at the National Palace, Esteban Moctezuma Barragán, head of the SEP, reiterated that Classes start on Monday, August 24 and end on July 9, 2021.

Know the most important dates of the next school year

Before the start of classes, From August 6 to September 11 there will be a registration process for students in public schools.

Moctezuma explained that they wanted to extend the registration period so that there are greater possibilities for registration.

From August 10 to 14 there will be training for teachers prior to the start of classes and from 17 to 21 they are sessions of the school technical council to prepare the course.

Moctezuma Barragán explained that all this will be online.

The days off are corresponding to official dates established in the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States.

The holidays correspond to the winter break as well as the Easter and Easter breaks and the summer break.

In the technical council sessions the teachers hold meetings so the students do not have classes.

On November 13, March 12 and June 28, 2021 students will not have classes so that teachers have these dates as an administrative discharge prior to the delivery of grades.

“We believe that there is great news for the teaching profession, having days prior to the delivery of ballots to have the administrative discharge, I believe that a response to a demand they had since we started the consultation forums,” he said.

The calendar will apply to public and private schools and It will consist of 190 effective days of study and work.
