(CRHoy.com). –This Thursday, March 11 and Friday, March 12, the application of first doses was stopped of the COVID-19 vaccine, reported the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).

Through a statement, the box reported that the first vaccines assigned for the current week (from March 8 to 12) were applied between Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. During Thursday and Friday only second doses were applied.

The CCSS said in a press release that this decision was made “as a strategy to prevent related people from forgetting to attend their second appointment during the days of the Semana Mayor ”.

According to the CCSS if they applied first doses of this vaccine this Thursday or Friday, the second would correspond to Thursday, April 1 and 2, days that correspond to Holy Week.

The medical manager of the CCSS, Mario Ruiz, asked the people who were summoned to receive the second dose Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Easter to attend the appointment on time.
