JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Minister of Agriculture (Minister) Syahrul Yasin Limpo appointed as Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ad Interim (temporary).
The appointment of Minister of Agriculture Syahrul also replaces the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
This is stated in the Letter of the Minister of State Secretary Number B-918 / M.Sesneg / D-3 / AN.00.03 / 12/2020 dated December 2, 2020 signed by the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno.
“We respectfully inform you that the President is pleased to appoint the Minister of Agriculture to replace the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment as the Ad Interim Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries,” wrote Pratikno in the letter, Wednesday (2/12/2020), quoted from Kompas.com.
In this letter, it is also written that Syahrul’s appointment as the Ad Interim Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries is related to the letter of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment number B-3863 / MARVES / MARITIM / RT.01.00 / XI / 2020 dated 22 November 2020.
In essence, the letter requested permission from the President that Coordinating Minister Luhut Pandjaitan undertook a foreign service trip from 2-10 December 2020 so that the President was asked to appoint Syahrul as a temporary replacement.
