JAKARTA– Deteriorating sector performance business with the hypermarket concept also has an impact on the shopping center industry. Therefore, the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI) Alphonzus Widjaja reminded that currently people tend to shop at places closest to their homes, such as minimarkets and the like. This is because of the limited mobility of the community.
“People’s purchasing power has fallen deep enough that they no longer shop in large quantities at hypermarkets like before. In the past, it used to be routine for weekly shopping, monthly shopping or many other things. Now people tend to spend only what they need,” said Alphonzus when contacted by Okezone in Jakarta, Sunday (1/1) 8/2021).
