London –
Gareth Bale prefer to Tottenham Hotspur, although he had also been a target Manchester United. Bale’s agent revealed the reason his client refused MU.
Bale has officially become Tottenham’s new player for the 2020/2021 season. The announcement of him joining the club from North London was announced on Sunday (20/09/2020).
The Welsh star is on loan The Lilywhites from Real Madrid for one year. Apart from Bale, Tottenham also brought him Sergio Reguilon from The whites at a price of 30 million pounds.
Before being announced as Tottenham’s new signing, Bale was linked with a move to other top clubs. One that is widely mentioned is MU.
Manchester United reportedly already eyeing Gareth Bale since the summer of 2019. However, the Red Devils did not take quick steps to get the former Southampton player, until they finally lost to compete with Tottenham Hotspur the faster ones (moving fast) brought in Bale.
This statement was made by Jonathan Barnett as Bale’s agent. According to him, Tottenham through his club president, Daniel Levy, immediately worked with the move of the left-handed player from Madrid to North London.
“It simply came to our notice then [Presiden Tottenham] Daniel Levy and myself. When the topic came up, I suggested that he and Daniel were interested, “Barnett told BBC Sport.
“So that’s how it happened, without magic and through long chats. Daniel Levy has long been interested in bringing Gareth back,” he added.
“There is always a reason why transfers fail to happen. It’s only a matter of the right moment, those who move first,” concluded Barnett. Gareth Bale join to Tottenham Hotspur rather than Manchester United.
