In dialogue with EL TIEMPO, Carmen Villarreal, mother of the 33-year-old young man, stated that in the morning hours of this Thursday, August 1, a doctor at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center He contacted her to tell her that her son had recovered from his first operation.
“The doctor told me that it was a very delicate operation that took several hours, but they didn’t tell me if they managed to remove the bullet. My son is stable, despite the seriousness of his condition. They sent me a photo of him and it’s heartbreaking to see him connected to so many machines and to know that he’s alone there, with no one from his family looking out for him,” said Villarreal.
The woman also said that the doctor asked her permission to subject José to a new operation.They told me that he was bleeding a lot, that they needed my permission to take him back to the operating room.“I told him to go ahead, that I was in Colombia and I was leaving my son in his hands.”
