Private employees will get direct cash assistance (BLT) from the government. The assistance is specifically for those with a salary below Rp. 5 million.
The assistance provided by the government is in the amount of Rp. 600 thousand / month for 4 months or a total of Rp. 2.4 million.
Minister of Labor Ida Fauziyah explained, the government provided this assistance on the grounds that private workers under 5 million had their salaries reduced or cut by companies due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, there are workers whose wages have decreased, for example due to adjustments in working hours as a consequence of implementing health protocols.
Meanwhile, according to the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati BLT workers for salaries under Rp. 5 million are part of a stimulus to restore the national economy affected by COVID-19 to help restore people’s purchasing power.
Then what is the process of disbursing employee BLT for salaries under Rp 5 million?
1. Transferred directly to the Worker’s Account
BLT money for private employees under Rp. 5 million will go directly to workers’ personal accounts. The Minister of Manpower ensured that the money did not go to the government. However, the condition is that workers’ accounts must be validated.
Currently, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan in all branches in Indonesia is collecting data on workers’ accounts. The Menaker asked the manpower offices to remind companies to help collect data.
2. Once Get IDR 1.2 Million
Disbursement of assistance will start from September to December 2020. Disbursement will begin in two stages. The first phase will be in September with the money to be transferred directly in two months, namely Rp. 1.2 million. The rest will be transferred in the fourth quarter with a value of Rp 1.2 million.
