This is the missed meeting between Michel Fourniret and Estelle Mouzin’s father

PODCAST

Last Saturday in Guermantes, Eric Mouzin organized a last white march in memory of his daughter Estelle, who had died twenty years earlier. Michel Fourniret, who admitted to “taking his own life” but was never tried for this crime, died a year and a half ago leaving behind questions that will remain unanswered. On the sidelines of this gathering in the town of Seine-et-Marne where Estelle was kidnapped, Eric Mouzin confided for the first time that he had personally met the serial killer. There were only a few days left before the death of Michel Fourniret.

This interview was a failure, according to Eric Mouzin’s confidences to France 2. Michel Fourniret, whose state of health was deteriorating day by day, was unable to provide any information. But in reality it wasn’t the first time that Eric Mouzin had tried to talk to the serial killer… In detail, this confrontation had almost already taken place years earlier, as Eric Mouzin confided to “Shadow” podcast.produced by Spotify and Europe 1 Studio.

“Michel Fourniret tells me he wants to meet me…”

In 2005, two years after the start of the investigation into the girl’s disappearance, Eric Mouzin recounts having received a letter from Michel Fourniret offering him a meeting. At the time, Estelle Mouzin’s father suspected she was more than just an outstretched hand. “Everyone tells me that you are such a perverse being, that it can be fun for him to sow doubts…”, he explains into the microphone of journalist Chloé Triomphe.

“I don’t want to become his toy”

But for this father who has been mobilizing body and soul for years to find traces of his daughter, the opportunity that presents itself cannot be missed. Eric Mouzin therefore accepts Michel Fourniret’s invitation, but on conditions. In the “L’Ombre” podcast, he recalls again: “I tell the Versailles investigators that I want to go there, but not like a sheep to be slaughtered … I want to go there knowing exactly how I should behave towards such an individual.” Michel Fourniret was sentenced to life imprisonment for eight murders incomprehensible, the various experts have diagnosed perversity and extreme danger.

For this fight, Eric Mouzin therefore asks to be coached before going to face Michel Fourniret. The father of the family recounts in “L’Ombre” the answer he then obtained from the investigators in charge of the “Fourniret file”: “I was told: ‘we could put you in touch with a RAID or GIGN negotiator who can tell us how we behave dealing with people like that.” But then we don’t talk about it anymore. […] And it’s meant to manipulate me. I don’t see him throwing himself on his knees at my feet saying ‘I did a stupid thing, I apologize'”. part of the visit.

In the “L’Ombre” podcast, Eric Mouzin recounted that the fight finally took place without him. And in front of the investigators, Michel Fourniret suddenly had nothing more to say about Estelle’s disappearance…

To discover the backstage ofCase Estelle Mouzin, listen to “L’Ombre”, the Original podcast produced by Spotify and Europe 1 Studio which proposes a reinterpretation of the investigation.
