This is the latest requirement to board a plane, PPKM will be extended again tomorrow?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government through the Ministry of Home Affairs revised the flight requirements for domestic flights when extending the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) for 2 weeks until Monday (4/10/2021).

The travel requirements are stated in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 43 of 2021.

This revision is related to PPKM Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2 Covid-19 in the Java and Bali Region and Minister of Home Affairs No. 44 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of PPKM Level 4, Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1 and “Optimizing Covid-19 Handling Posts at the Village and Sub-District Levels to Control the Spread of Covid-19 in Sumatra, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua.

In detail in Java-Bali, domestic travel using public transportation such as airplanes must show a vaccination card (at least the first dose of vaccination).

Airplane passengers are required to show a certificate of negative RT-PCR test results whose samples were taken within a maximum of 2×24 hours before departure.

Provisions for PCR and vaccine cards apply to arrivals from outside Java and Bali or departures from Java and Bali to outside Java and Bali regions.

Meanwhile, traveling by plane between cities or regencies within Java-Bali can show negative antigen (H-1) results provided that they have received a second dose of vaccination and negative PCR results (H-2) if they have only received dose 1 vaccine.

Outside Java-Bali, passengers must show a vaccine card for at least the first dose of vaccination and show PCR (H-2) for aircraft. This rule only applies to arrivals and departures from and to areas designated as PPKM level 4.

Now there are no longer areas in Java-Bali that are included in the level 4 PPKM category. However, there are at least 10 regions outside Java-Bali that are still level 4.

These include Aceh Tamiang Regency, Pidie Regency, Padang City, Bangka Regency, Banjarbaru City, Banjarmasin City, Balikpapan City, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, Tarakan City and Bulungan Regency.

On the other hand, the government has also asked the National Air Transport Business Entity and Foreign Air Transport Companies to make Arrival Passenger Arrangements and Data Reporting on International Flights at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

This provision is effective from 30 September 2021 as an effort to suppress the potential spread of the SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) virus. This arrangement is part of an effort to prevent the entry of the new Covid-19 virus variant to Indonesia via air transportation.

Regulatory policies with restrictions on passenger arrivals like this have been carried out in several other countries such as in Australia, the Philippines and Japan. All in order to maintain and prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Now the provisions can carry passengers (inbound traffic) a maximum of 90 people per flight. This needs to be done so that the government can tighten supervision.

In terms of PPKM, the government has indeed implemented Emergency PPKM on July 3 to 20, 2021 then continues to become PPKM Level 4 from July 20, 2021 to August 2, 2021. Now it has been extended again from September 14-20 and now until October 4 and tomorrow it will be announced whether will be extended or not.

Previously, the Ministry of Health stated that starting from October 2021, people traveling by train and airplane can ‘walk’ without using the PeduliLindung application.

The Ministry of Health starting this month will provide a number of options for people who want to travel without using the PeduliLindung application.

The option in question is to collaborate with a number of other applications that are already widely used by the community.

For example, such as Gojek, Grab, Traveloka, Tokopedia, Tiket.com, Jaki, LinkAja, and others. With the integration between fellow applications, people no longer need to use PeduliLindungi.

“This will be launched in October,” said the Chief Digital Transformation Office of the Ministry of Health, Setiaji in a discussion, as quoted on Tuesday (28/9/2021)

However, this policy only applies to people who do not have a smartphone or those who cannot access the PeduliLindung application.
