This is the full reaction of the G7 Bali regarding the “Russian missiles” to Poland

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Several G20 countries which are also members of G7 and NATO alliances held an emergency meeting in Bali on Wednesday (16/11/2022). This is to discuss Russia’s attack on Ukraine, which is also suspected of hitting Polish territory.

In its statement, the G7 agreed to condemn Russia’s attack on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure on Tuesday. Countries consisting of Canada, the European Union (EU), France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States (US)

“We reaffirm our unwavering support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression,” read an official statement posted on the European Commission’s website, in a press release received CNBC Indonesia.

“Furthermore, we have also expressed our continued willingness to hold Russia accountable for its insolent attacks on the Ukrainian community,” he added.

As for Poland, the countries agreed to support an investigation into whether the missile was intentionally fired by Russia. Please note that Poland is a member country of NATO and the EU.

“We are offering our full support and assistance to the ongoing investigation in Poland. We have agreed to remain in close contact to determine appropriate next steps as the investigation progresses,” the statement added.

US President Joe Biden himself commented on the matter. According to him, there were initial reports that the missiles that landed and killed citizens in Poland probably did not come from Russia.

“There is initial information to refute it. I don’t want to say, until we investigate it thoroughly,” Biden replied to AFP on Wednesday (11/16/2022).

“There’s no way in my mind that crosses fired from Russia. But we’ll see,” he explained again.

Meanwhile, Polish President Andrzej Duda also provided an earlier update on the missile attack that fell on his country. He stressed that there was still no clear evidence as to who fired the missile.

But it states “most likely Russian made”. Poland is also known to have summoned the Russian ambassador to Warsaw to explain this.

“At the moment we have no unequivocal evidence as to who fired the missile,” he told reporters, published AFP extensionWednesday (16/11/2022).

“Investigations are ongoing. It is most likely Russian-made,” he added.

Russia, on the other hand, has denied it. The Russian Defense Ministry called these allegations a deliberate provocation to escalate the situation.

“The statements by Polish media and officials about the alleged downing of a ‘Russian’ missile in the Przewodow residential area are a deliberate provocation to aggravate the situation,” he explained in a statement obtained CNN International.
