This is the first on Norwegian signs

After a slightly cautious start, Mercedes has really picked up speed in its electric car adventure. They now have an impressive stack of electric cars, and at the top is the flagship EQS SUV.

The response to this car must have been huge in Norway. Now the very first example has arrived in the country and has been registered with EE license plate.

This is also the only EQS SUV on Norwegian registration plates so far. But that will change significantly in the new year when the first customer cars arrive in the country.

DIGER: The EQS SUV is a whopping 5.12 meters long, so we’re talking about one of the largest SUVs you can buy.

It will be more expensive…

The price also speaks volumes that this is a top model. The starting price for the EQS SUV is NOK 1,108,000, so we are talking about the EQS 450 4Matic. The car that is now in Norway is a 580 4Matic. It starts at NOK 1,283,800.

In a familiar style, it quickly becomes more when you start to fix the car. We can safely say that it also applies to this copy. No less than 1,617,744 is written on the price tag. So he got extra equipment such as 10 degrees rear axle steering, trailer assistant, AMG exterior, increased head up display, as well as a number of equipment packages.

544 horsepower

From the new year, there will be a significant increase in the price of the EQS SUV, when both weight tax and VAT will be added to the purchase price above NOK 500,000. The importer himself estimates that a similarly equipped car will cost around NOK 1.9 million from the beginning of the year.

580 means that the car has no less than 544 horsepower and a whopping 858 Nm of torque. It sweeps the huge car from 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds.

Test driven in the USA

The range is also 577 kilometres. That’s an impressive figure for an electric car as big and heavy as this one. So the battery pack is also 108.4 kWh net. With fast charging, it can receive up to 200 kW.

We at Broom test drove the EQS SUV for the first time in September. Then we went to Denver, USA, where the Mercedes had its first test drive. “Simply an incomparable car” was our conclusion after putting the car through its paces. Click here to read our full test:
