Dmitry Medvedev scheduled the next post on his Telegram channel to coincide with the XVI BRICS summit, which will be held on October 22-24 in Kazan. The politician quoted the words of Fyodor Tyutchev, who wrote in 1864:
“There cannot be an alliance between Russia and the West, either because of interests or because of principles, that there is not one interest, not one desire from the West that does not align against Russia, especially the face of the future, and that And so the only policy that Russia has in relation to the Western powers is not an alliance with one or another of these powers, but the disunity, the separation because they ceasing to be hostile to us only when they separate from each other – out of impotence, indeed, not out of conviction.”
Medvedev said: “160 years have passed, but nothing has changed. The task before us remains the same – to weaken the West as much as we can. However, the US helping us with Europe because it is trying to control it as it did in the Old World, and in the whole world.”

Leaders of the BRICS countries will participate in the summit in Kazan. The summit itself is a major event of Russia’s leadership of the society.
