When you think of Dacia, you have in mind the low prices. But the company also has some models that easily end up competing with cars from larger companies. That’s the case with Duster.

If you are preparing to get a new car, possibly a Dacia, and you want something very good, you can start with Duster. It’s the most spacious car the local company sells, it even has a diesel engine, if you still want something like that.

With the launch of the Rabla program, we did an imagination exercise on the Dacia website: how much a Duster can cost, with almost all the equipment that most drivers would need. Thus, in the most expensive version, we are talking about a Duster Prestige. In the first phase I chose the Blue dCi engine with all-wheel drive and 115 hp. I put metallic paint and all kinds of equipment and accessories.

That’s how we reached a final price of over 25,500 euros. At this price, you can already look at alternatives from Skoda, Hyundai, Suzuki, even Ford or maybe Volkswagen. If you want an SUV, the list is a bit smaller, but it’s still there.

On petrol, the situation is completely different: the engine is more powerful, the most powerful in the Dacia offer, even at a lower price, but without all-wheel drive. Otherwise, with most accessories and equipment, the price exceeds 23,000 euros. What you gain is motorization.

As a market level, it is worth mentioning that in Romania the average net monthly salary per economy was almost 3,400 lei in January 2021.

What you need to know if you start to configure a Dacia according to your preferences

The biggest problem with customizing the car is that you could wait from a month to half a year. Especially at Dacia, you have a good chance to have the car quickly if you don’t start putting everything you want on it and you can afford it.

In other words, I mentioned the 150 hp engine on the Duster, Renault wants to limit future cars to 180 km / h. Currently, only Dacia Duster in two versions is approaching. The remarkable model has 150 hp, which reaches a maximum speed of 202 km / h on paper.

The second model with higher power is the Duster with the TCe 130 engine with 130 hp and a maximum speed of 193 km / h. The diesel version is at 183 km / h (115 hp) on the 4 × 2 version and 175 km / h on the 4 × 4 version.
