KOMPAS.com – Samsung is believed to be releasing a successor to the Galaxy S23 flagship cellphone series early next year, possibly in January 2024 in San Francisco, United States.

Ahead of its launch, various rumors surfaced on the internet, including regarding the appearance and specifications of the Galaxy S24 series.

According to gadget leaker Ice Universe, the screen design of the Galaxy S24 Ultra will also be different. Instead of being designed with a curved model on the right and left sides, the cellphone screen panel actually adopts a flat model.

Meanwhile, another rumor from a tipster named @OnLeaks on X Twitter actually revealed that the Galaxy S24 Ultra screen combines curved and flat designs at the same time.

Still regarding the screen, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is believed to come with a higher screen brightness level, increasing from 1,750 nits on the Galaxy S23 Ultra to 2,000 nits.

Fewer cameras and a titanium body?

As compiled by KompasTekno from Mashable, Saturday (11/18/2023), it is rumored that the number of rear cameras on the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be fewer. No longer four like the previous Ultra series, but only three.

Reportedly, the camera that was cut was a telephoto camera. The Galaxy S23 Ultra was previously known to have two telephoto cameras, each with 3x and 10x optical zoom levels

On the other hand, Ice Universe said the Galaxy S24 Ultra will still be equipped with four cameras. However, the periscope telephoto camera has had its optical zoom level reduced from the previous 10x to 5x, but the resolution has increased from 10 MP to 50 MP.

Leaked specifications for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Snapdragon or Exynos?

On paper, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is believed to rely on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chip. According to a number of reports, the GPU (graphics processing) performance of this chip is 50 percent faster than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 on the previous Galaxy S23.

This chip will reportedly be combined with 16 GB RAM and up to 1 TB internal media. Meanwhile, the other two models, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus, will reportedly come with different chips, namely Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 in a number of markets.
