Previously, there was a lot of talk about the government allocating Rp 2.4 trillion for the procurement of laptops for schools. This has been regulated through Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 5 of 2021.
This allocation regulates the financing plan for 16,713 schools in the form of 284,147 laptops produced in the country with a TKDN certificate. It also includes supporting equipment such as 17,510 wireless routers, 10,799 projectors and screens, 10,799 connectors, 8,205 printers, and 6,527 scanners.
In addition, there is also such a thing as the Red and White Laptop Program. Many think this program is the same as a laptop for school, but this is different, you know.
detikINET in an interview with the Karo of Planning Kemendikbudristek, M Samsuri, got an explanation about the Program Red and White Laptop. According to Samsuri, in addition to the procurement of ICT, the Ministry of Education and Culture also encourages the production of Red and White laptops through a consortium of universities, namely UI, ITB, ITS, and UGM.
“We also encourage the production of Red and White Laptops through a consortium of universities,” he said.
The consortium has prepared a roadmap, product design, and will be fully involved in the production of laptops together with the industry starting in 2022. In addition, vocational students and vocational college students will be involved in assembly and post-sale activities.
“It’s still at the research stage, later in the auction process the vendor will do it,” he said.
Even though the name Red and White LaptopAccording to Samsuri, the final form is a tablet. Unlike Laptops for Schools whose purpose is elementary-high school, this Red and White Laptop is for college.
“E-modules have been filled from Dikti, because they are more for higher education, for students,” he said.
