Japan are on alert because the population is getting more and more elderly, declining birth rates, until sex recession and residents are reluctant to marry. Various reasons have been the cause, but this Japanese politician feels he has the answer.
Recently, Narise Ishida of the Liberal Democratic Party stated that the reason Japanese people are increasingly unwilling to marry is that their ‘romantic ability’ is decreasing. He also asked the local government to hold a survey and analysis of this phenomenon.
“The birth rate is not decreasing because of the need for money to have children. The problem is that romance is considered a taboo subject before marriage,” he was quoted as saying detikINET from Mainichi, Monday (27/2/2023).
He asked for this factor to be considered in the government’s efforts to match citizens. However, he did not explain in more detail whether it was ‘romantic ability’. Perhaps related to the ability to seduce the opposite sex.
“Since this is a really personal matter, we first need to deepen what romantic ability means,” said Akira Yasuia, Japan’s prefectural strategic director.
“In the previous survey on the attitudes of the prefecture’s residents, some gave answers related to romantic ability, including ‘I’m not confident,’ and ‘I can’t get along with the opposite sex,’ as reasons for not getting married. We will continue to conduct the survey from a broad perspective. ,” he added.
As reported, the Japan’s National Fertility Survey states that the number of virgins in Japan is increasing, where 1 in 10 Japanese men in their 30s are still virgins.
“A large proportion of individuals are unable to find a mate,” said Peter Ueda, a researcher from Tokyo University. He warned that the rise in the number of virgins in Japan was the highest among high-income countries.
Japan is also under threat as a country, because it is estimated that its population could drop by half in half a century if such a trend occurs sex recession it’s unstoppable.
