After the alert issued by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, on April 7, regarding the shortage of doses of Sinovac in the country, the Government of Santander and the Ministry of Health reported that the department “created a Contingency Plan that would respond to the need to immunize the population that meets or is close to serving the appropriate 28 days to receive the second dose.

“With this, the application of the first doses of Sinovac was suspended, remaining doses that some municipalities could contribute were collected, these vaccines were reassigned to comply with the application of the second dose of this laboratory in the required time and were redistributed according to the situation of each municipality.

“It is important to highlight the work of El Playón, Sabana de Torres, Cimitarra, Bucaramanga, Floridablanca, Lebrija and Rionegro, since given the situation, these municipalities contributed with reserve vaccines, completing a total of 2,299 doses that will be destined for the population pending and close to the application of the second dose ”.

“Likewise, in less than 24 hours, the National Government ruled on the projection of the interdose period. The Departmental Collection Center is waiting for new guidelines in order to continue with the process of distribution and application of biologicals ”.
