We know for a long time that the Polish Cyberpunk 2077 is warming up players around the world and nobody needs to be convinced. Huge interest in the first impressions of the game – so finally the media was allowed to face the fragment of the game on their own – they are excellent proof of this. Just like disappointment with the next one postponing the release date of Cyberpunk 2077. Others, including the Chinese electronic entertainment giant Tencent, want to take advantage of the popularity of CD Projekt Red.
Chinese SON looks amazing
There is material from the SYN network (or Code: SYN as you prefer) and it’s definitely worth devoting these 3 minutes to it, because it looks great.

It is good that it was decided to include an appropriate note in the title, at least no one will feel cheated later. “Real-time UE4 Demo” says virtually everything about this film presentation, but not much about the game itself. Technological demos are on the one hand a demonstration of the engine’s capabilities, on the other hand its taming by the manufacturer and, unfortunately, very rarely both these issues have an impact on the actual game. Especially that we are talking about the current and not the future version of the Unreal engine. Well, but you have to admit that the clip as a product came out really well. He was to turn the eyes of game fans all over the world to SON and I think he did this job very well. However, it is difficult not to notice the mixed feelings of the viewers – in the comments under the movies they often say that this is a fake cyberpunk, that the proper gameplay was not shown, and the last thing that the trailer should demonstrate is the character creator.
SYN is a cyberpunk FPS shooter with an open world, which takes place in the not too distant future, in 2035. On the video we can see a perfectly implemented character creator – and here it may turn out that at least this element will look similar. I don’t know if you played Black Desert Mobile, but it is one of the productions that shows how many Asian manufacturers are able to squeeze even from the not-so-grateful mobile platform. The game is expected to appear on consoles and PCs, although no specific platforms have yet been confirmed and no preliminary release date has been revealed. I am extremely curious at what stage of work Son is and I would not be surprised if at the beginning of next year something specific in this topic works – Cyberpunk 2077 can make a good foundation for games with a similar climate, which will certainly contribute to the popularity of SYN. And it is said that the game should immediately hit Western markets, including Europe.
The Chinese response to Cyberpunk 2077 is obviously quite a simplification, especially since SYN is supposed to focus on shooting and for now no information has been revealed that RPG elements will appear in the game. Finally, our Cyberpunk 2077 is an open world RPG, not an adventure shooter supposedly for Grand Theft Auto V.

It is difficult to say at this moment what SON has a chance of success, if only because about the game practically nothing is known. For sure, it tempts visually and I keep my fingers crossed that the great frame from the producers will serve a very good, dynamic and thoughtful shooting model. The story will also be key – somehow I don’t really feel like playing a shell, which only focuses on action and a great setting. However, it is definitely worth following this project, because although it is only a technological demo at the moment, it is successful enough to raise a lot of hope.
