It turns out that Bank Indonesia (BI) once issued a special edition metal coin in the IDR 850,000 denomination. This IDR 850,000 coin turned out to be most expensive money issued by BI.
Launching the BI website, Wednesday (8/3/2023), these coins are made of gold metal using a proof printing technique. The gold metal material is 23 carat, weighs 50 grams, has a diameter of 35 mm and a thickness of 2.78 mm.
The most expensive Indonesian coins have been included in the list of special coins ever issued by BI.
This coin was issued in 1995. The issuance was carried out in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia (RI).
Details of Indonesia’s most expensive coin, depicting the back of Indonesia’s 2nd President, Soeharto, with the DHN logo – 45 and 50 stars encircling the main image of the text “FIFTY YEARS INDEPENDENCE OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA”.
Then, on the face of the most expensive RI coin, there is the national symbol of the Garuda bird with 50 stars circling the main image of the text “BANK INDONESIA”.
Then, on the side there are 5 (five) lines in four different places. Perum Peruri logo on the side of the text “50 g” and a serial number consisting of 5 digits.
