“Prince Hamzah bin Hussein is working with foreign entities to destabilize the country,” said Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Safadi.
The prince who was arrested previously released two videos to BBC, claiming that he is being held under house arrest.
He denies the conspiracy, but accuses Jordanian leaders of corruption and an inability to run the country.
A total of 16 people, including a former adviser to King Abdullah II and other members of the royal family, were arrested on Saturday for allegedly threatening state security.
In his video, Prince Hamzah, the half-brother of King Abdullah II, said he had been told he could not go out or communicate with people.
The move allegedly follows Prince Hamzah’s visit to tribal leaders, where he is said to have garnered some support.
