In the previous provincial elections, the VVD was the largest party with 10 seats. Forum for Democracy then won 9 seats, the CDA 8.
The turnout in Brabant was 52.2 percent in 2019. Our province therefore had the dubious honor of having the lowest turnout in the Netherlands.
Exit poll: BBB knocks VVD off the throne
BBB will be the largest party in the provincial elections in Brabant. An Ipsos exit poll commissioned by NOS predicts that Caroline van der Plas’ party has received almost a fifth of the vote. The VVD, the largest party in this province four years ago, is now second with 14.4 percent of the vote. Here too, the CDA has more than halved, from 13.3 to 5.8 percent.
According to the exit poll, the SP drops from 9.2 to 7.8 percent and would therefore no longer be the largest left-wing party in North Brabant. Although GroenLinks also loses something, it would become the same size as the SP. The PvdA rises from 6.4 to 8.2 percent. D66 also loses something, from 8.8 to 7.1 percent.
Forum for Democracy, the second largest party in 2019 with 14.4 percent of the vote, would now remain stuck at 2.7 percent. The PVV also loses, from 7.6 to 5.9 percent. Newcomer on the right flank JA21 comes in with 4.2 percent of the vote.
